Director Traffic Development
Ulrich Theis serves Munich Airport as Director Traffic Development in charge of the Americas, the Russian speaking world, Eastern Europe, Portugal and Spain. Prior to his current function Ulrich was in charge of International Training and consulting at the Munich Airport Academy with regular missions to Oman.
By education, Ulrich is an aviation lawyer with a specialization in Aviation Policy. He studied Law at the Leiden University in the Netherlands and holds an Advanced LL.M. in International Air & Space Law, obtained from the International Institute of Air & Space Law at Leiden University.
Following his academic education, Ulrich worked at the same Institute as Academic Coordinator in charge of the aviation education programs of the International Institute of Air & Space Law.
Later he joined the Dutch Ministry of Transportation where he became assistant of the Chief Negotiator for Bilateral Air Services Agreements in The Hague.
Continuing his previous path of aviation education Ulrich was appointed as Training Manager of the World Airport Organization ACI (Airports Council International) in Geneva. At ACI Ulrich was in charge of providing professional airport training to the ACI Member Airports. He gained substantial experience in training needs analysis, course development and the global distribution of ACI training products.
