CONNECT announces Ajaccio as 2017 destination
Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th February 2017
Palais des Congrès, Ajaccio, Corsica
Press release: Immediate release 31st May 2016

The Airport Agency, creator of CONNECT, is delighted to announce that Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport and its Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be hosting the 14th CONNECT event in Ajaccio, Corsica from 22nd - 24th February 2017.

Ajaccio, capital of Corsica, pays tribute to the most illustrious of its sons: Napoleon. Proud of its architecture, the city is characterised by its warm climate, magnificent landscapes, its sandy beaches and its picturesque villages. This luminous, colourful city, with its Mediterranean lifestyle makes Ajaccio an attractive tourist destination renowned for its culture, gastronomy, shopping and leisure activities.

CONNECT in Corsica is expected to bring together over 450 aviation decision makers including more than 50 airlines and 200 represented airports to discuss current and future air transport links. It's an essential date in the European route development calendar. "More airline and airports are turning to CONNECT for a friendlier and more relaxed networking event. The event delivers maximum results thanks to its less pressured and more productive setting" says Karin Butot, Managing Director of the Airport Agency.

That's why 95% of its attendees believe that CONNECT matches or exceeds their network planning expectations. "Route development is extremely competitive, and the more opportunities buyers can meet sellers in person, the better. CONNECT provides the right platform for delegates to build business relationships and make the connections that matter."

Proud host of CONNECT 2017, Ajaccio wishes to capitalize on these route development opportunities. "As an island, air transport links are the first priority of Corsica's development. We need to be linked to European capitals all year round in order to grow our economy. Tourism underpins the economy of Corsica, and we are trying to develop other sectors, like the digital economy, but we won't be able to do so without European and Mediterranean air transport links" says Jean-André Miniconi, Chief Executive Offer of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Southern Corsica.

CONNECT 2017 will take place by the sea, in the striking Palais des Congrès. Located in the heart of the city, not only will our participants be surrounded by a splendid view of the city and sea front, but there will be no transfers to face again between the partner hotels and conference venue, giving delegates the chance to maximize their networking opportunities at the event, whilst discovering the jewel of the Mediterranean.
